Why ridicule the lab-leak hypothesis when it was obviously a reasonable COVID-origins proposal? Was it because the US government's fingerprints were all over the Wuhan lab?
Back in 2020, at the height of all the distancing and masking and long lines to be tested, a Canadian doctor was recorded saying that this was the greatest hoax perpetrated on mankind. That's because he was probably unaware of the 1938 Orson Wells radio show panic that never was. Or maybe he meant that while the first was merely a national level hoax, this one was international and so of greater scale.
While most of the public is kept busy arguing about the origin of the (not) "novel" virus, I've read several articles since 2020 that questioned whether Co(Rona)Vi(rus)D(ecember) (20)19 was a new virus at all.
